Waters Edge Dr.

I went to an abandoned house in Lititz, Pa. I was trespassing, but it's just such an interesting place and i couldn't help myself. I've been there before many times, and I noticed this last time that the owner is attempting to renovate the house. Before, the interior of the house was still furnished. This time, the contents of the house was piled up in the back yard, and the house had a brand new roof. It looks as though the owner is also trying to restore the foundation of the house. I thought it was pretty sad, because the house, in its state of decay, had a sort of eerie beauty to it. I walked around the property, which includes the house, a large barn, and two large sheds. First I walked around the house and noticed a lot of broken glass, and saw that someone had been shooting at the windows with a paintball gun. I also saw a pan lying outside the kitchen window, that was lined with foil, but had never been used. It was when I walked around to the back of the house that I saw all the piles of appliances, bicycles and all sorts of things. There was a mattress on the ground with carpet on top of it. Next to that was a gaping hole in the ground that was dug under the house to repair the foundation.

After that, my camera ran out of batteries and I had to go home and get some new ones as well as better shoes. I had just left work and was running around in the rain and mud in my work pants and black flats. When I came back, I decided to walk on the porch, which I didn't really trust to hold my weight but I decided to be risky and try it anyway. I spent a while looking in the windows at the interior of the house, which was now bare. I couldn't see very clearly but it looked as though the stairs to the second floor had completely fell through after the fourth step.

It's when I walked around to the other side of the house that I found most of my objects. I found a piece of wallpaper, a piece of drywall with a leaf painted on it, a piece of broken Willow Pattern China, and a piece of some other material. I also found a drawer that contained at one time, what I'm assuming is some sort of filing system.

Next I went over to the barn, which still smelled very strongly of animal urine. I found a lunge whip that was broken into three pieces laying on the cement in front of one of the large doors. I heard a noise inside the barn, which brought my exploration of it to a quick halt. Right next to it though, was a cattle chute standing all by its lonesome in the front yard. It must have been a working farm at one point in time, which is very odd for the area in which it's located.

I think this trip that I took to see the house was the most interesting for me because I took more time to notice fine details about it that I had overlooked before.
